Chief Lady Ada Onyeyili (nee Iloanusi) was born on 12th April 1960 at Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State to the family of Late Chief G.O. Iloanusi (Ukwa I) and Ezinne Amalachukwu Iloanusi (Adaeze). After her Primary School at Aba she went to Queens School Enugu where she obtained her West African School Certificate (WAEC). She immediately enrolled into School of Nursing, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu, where she obtained her General Nursing Certificate. Thereafter she went to Maiduguri, Borno State where she did her Midwifery training at School of Midwifery, Maiduguri. In 1996, she gained admission into School of Health Technology, Nsukka, Enugu State, where she obtained a Diploma Certificate in Community Health Officers Course and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Health Nursing.

Her love for knowledge and further education took her to Imo State University, Owerri, where she did a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Hospital and Health Science Administration and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH). As a professional nurse with knack for further training and excellence, she applied and was admitted to do her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree programme in Nursing Department, University of Nigeria Nsukka. She graduated in flying colours in 2005 as the Best Graduating Nursing Administration Student, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. She was later admitted to do a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree programme in Health Management and Administration in the same Nursing Department, the programme that is almost completed.

Chief Lady Ada Onyeyili worked as a trained nurse in various units at University of Maiduguri, Borno State, between 1985 and 1993 before she transferred for service to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi. She worked in Primary Health Care/Centre for Community Medicine Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area in annex of NAUTH between 1993 and 1997 as a Senior and Principal Nursing Officer. She later moved to Primary Health Care/Community Health Centre Ukpo Complex in Dunukofia Local Government Area another annex of NAUTH where she headed the Nursing unit as the Chief Nursing Officer for many years.

In 2009, she was promoted to the rank of Assistant Director Nursing Services and was appointed the Head Nursing Services, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in 2012. Chief Lady Ada Onyeyili who has attended various workshops, seminars and conferences is a member of many professional bodies and affiliations including National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANN & M) and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. She is a Lady of Saint Mulumber (LSM) a devout Christian and a philanthropist who devotes her resources in the service of God and humanity helping the needy and visiting motherless babies home. She is happily married with four children and enjoys reading, traveling and listening to music.
